WORLD DAY OF REFUGEES AND MIGRANTS

World Day of Refugees and Migrants—Sunday 26th September Pope Francis’ theme for the day is ‘Towards an ever wider “WE”, breaking down the ‘US and THEM’ mentality and calling for inclusion. Very appropriate for us all at present.

DEALING WITH RELATIONSHIP BREAKDOWN                             Relationship breakdown can be the hardest experience of a person’s life. No one should have to face it on their own. By joining a Restored Lives course, you can become part of, and supported by, a local group working together to find a way forward. The next eight-session online course starts on October 4. 2022 CONFIRMATION REGISTRATION FOR PUPILS IN 2ND YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL                                                                                Confirmation registration will commence from every Sunday in October 11:30 am- 12:30 pm in the Maurice Reaney Hall. Registration forms will be available at the entry and exit foyer of the church or can be downloaded HERE. Please candidates must be present at registration with their Baptism and FHC certificates. Registration fee is £20

 

WEEKDAY MASS                                                                                         There will be 8am Mass on every Tuesday and 7pm Mass on every Wednesday commencing from December 2021.                                              

ALTAR SERVERS TRAINNING                                                                          A training programme for Altar Servers has been scheduled to run every Friday in October from 5:30pm- 6:30pm.                                                                        

CHURCH FOOD SERVICES                                                                            The Parish Food Services resumes on every Last Sunday of the month, beginning this month of September. Parishioners who are willing to support this effort by donating food should contact the Parish Office or donate into the Parish Account: NATWEST St Elphege’s Church Sort Code 60-22-20 A/C No. 25072528

SIGNING OF SCHOOL FORMS
We would like to notify parents who need to have the Priest Reference Form signed for Catholic Schools that, Fr Patrick will be available after the midday Mass on Sunday for an hour (1 pm- 2 pm) in the Maurice Reaney Hall. This will run throughout September. The last day for the signing will be Sunday 3rd October 2021. We expect parents and guardians to cooperate with us and make the best use of this opportunity.

COLLECTION OF RED BOXES
We would like to notify all Red Box holders that the Parish Missio Team will begin a collection of the Boxes from 12th September till Sunday 3rd October 2021. Team members will be available at the exit of the church after each Mass. Thank You for your generosity.


WANT TO HELP AFGHAN REFUGEES?

Sutton has joined the London wide effort to help Afghan refugees, but please note: Donations are no longer needed as they have more than enough.

However, a fantastic team of volunteer packers to help support with sorting out and packing the donations, and volunteer drivers to support with collection and delivery of donations are needed.

ANNUAL CATHEDRAL MARRIAGE MASS

Are you celebrating your 1st, 10th, 25th, 40th, 50th, 60th or any later wedding anniversary this year? Or did you last year? If so, Archbishop John invites you to join him in celebrating a Mass for married couples at 3pm on Saturday October 9 at St George’s Cathedral. Altar Servers

Due to COVID, Altar Servers are not able share Albs. Please contact the Parish Office to arrange collection of an Alb for your child’s sole use while they are Altar Servers. The Alb should be thoroughly washed (and ironed) before they are used.

 

Reconciliation

 

Please note that Reconciliation now takes place in the Lady Chapel on every Saturday between 10:30 am -11:30 am & 5:15 pm to 6 pm.
